Diverse groups across the Greater New Orleans area are showing their unified support for New Orleans Councilmember Stacy Head. A total of five organizations have recently announced their endorsement of Head. Head is seeking reelection to the New Orleans District B City Council seat.

The Forum For Equality Louisiana was founded in 1989 and is dedicated to good government and equal rights for all in Louisiana . Chair, Kenny Tucker, stated, “Stacy Head has a proven record of standing by what she believes, whether or not her stance is popular. The courage of her convictions as well as her tireless work for the citizens of District B are qualities that we admire and would like other elected officials to emulate.” The Forum for Equality Louisiana announced its endorsement of Head on December 31.

John H. Musser IV, acting Chairman of the Orleans Parish Republican Executive Committee, announced the organization’s endorsement of Head on December 18. The sole purpose of the Orleans Parish Republican Executive Committee is to further the interest of the Republican Party in Orleans Parish.

The American Federation of Labor Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) announced its endorsement of Head on December 25. The AFL-CIO president, Robert “Tiger” Hammond III, made the announcement. The AFL-CIO has been the voice, arms, and legs of working families in the four-parish area of Orleans , Jefferson , St. Bernard, and Plaquemines. AFL-CIO serves to coordinate and advance the interests of its affiliated local unions and their members throughout the community. The AFL-CIO was please to announce their support of Head and is looking forward to working with Head.

The fourth organization to announce its endorsement of Head is the Regular Democratic Organization (RDO). RDO is the oldest active civic and political organization in the United States , has a long and established reputation in this area; a substantial percentage of registered voters count on its ballot and its media plan for advice as to which candidate best represents their interests.

On January 6, Nikki Lescale, Vice President of the Alliance for Good Government, announced the organization’s endorsement of Head. The purpose of the Alliance for Good Government is to foster, protect and promote the welfare and interest of the citizens of the State of Louisiana by bringing together thinking citizens into an organization to promote public policies that benefit the New Orleans Metropolitan area, the State of Louisiana and the United States of America .

Head has signed all seven issues of Forward New Orleans, a diverse, issue-focused, community initiative led by the Business Council of New Orleans and the River Region in collaboration with more than thirty civic, neighborhood and business organizations, all of which are committed to improving the quality of life in New Orleans . The seven issues include crime, blight, city finance, economic development, services/infrastructure, city contracting and public education.

In accepting the endorsements, Councilmember Head said, “Aligning myself with positive organizations such as the AFL-CIO, the Forum For Equality Louisiana, the Orleans Parish Republican Executive Committee, Alliance for Good Government and the RDO are all extremely important to my campaign. These organizations’ support will enable me to further my goals in moving the communities I serve forward.”

Candidate Opens Headquarters
Head recently opened her campaign headquarters, located at 4932 Prytania Street, 2nd Floor New Orleans, above of La Thai restaurant.
